The MT Thunder 4 R SV is the helmet for riders who are done squinting. Slide one finger along the left side and an internal sun visor drops behind the clear shield; slide it back and it disappears. No stopping, no swapping visors, no carrying a spare. This is the upgraded R evolution of MT's Thunder 4 SV platform, in clean gloss black, certified to both ECE 22.06 and DOT.

The sun visor that changes your daily ride
Riding into a low afternoon sun with only a clear visor means squinting through glare for kilometres. The MT-ESP visor solves it the moment it happens: one slide and a smoked shield drops between your eyes and the light, one slide and it retracts for shade, tunnels or sunset. It sits behind the main visor, so it works with the shield fully closed against dust and wind.
The anti-fog lens is already in the box
On most helmets at this level, the Pinlock lens is an extra purchase. The Thunder 4 R SV ships with the Pinlock DKS435 Max Vision included. Fit it once and winter dawn rides stop fogging, with nothing more to buy. The main MT-V-28C visor is scratch resistant, optically correct, and locks shut so an impact cannot flick it open. If you want a mirrored look for daytime, a Revo dark red MT-V-28B fits the same mechanism.

A safety feature you hope you never need
The cheek pads use an Emergency Release System. In an accident, medics pull two marked tabs and the pads slide out downward, letting them lift the helmet off with far less movement of the neck. It costs you nothing in daily comfort and could matter enormously once.
Ventilation designed by engineers, not guesswork
The MT-AFCS channel system was shaped using fluid dynamics analysis: intakes at the chin and crown feed internal channels that pull air across the scalp and out through the rear extractors behind the spoiler. The result is a helmet that keeps air moving in slow traffic, which is exactly where summer heat wins against lesser designs.
Sun visor care: clean the internal sun visor with a damp soft cloth only. It carries coatings on both faces, and household cleaners strip them.
An interior built for daily life
The lining is hypoallergenic, fully removable and washable, drying overnight after a rinse with mild soap. The shell carries a recessed UCS intercom housing, ready for MT's own MT-B01 and Rider Sync systems, while standard intercoms mount with their usual clamp or adhesive kits.

Safety rule: replace any helmet after a single impact, even if no damage is visible, and after 5 years of regular use. The protective foam compresses once and does not recover.

Return & exchange conditions
The product must be in its original unused condition, with the original invoice, original packaging, and all accessories included.
Returns or exchanges are not accepted if the product has been opened or its packaging tampered with, shows signs of use, damage, or improper storage, or if any accessories or parts of the original packaging are missing.
Excluded products
Some products cannot be returned or exchanged, such as: used products including footwear, clothing, and spare parts; electrical/electronic parts and batteries; personal protective clothing and gear after use or after removing accessories; and technical spare parts after installation or use.
Electronic products and batteries must be inspected within 48 hours of delivery.
Fees
When returning a resalable product, up to 25% of its value may be deducted.
For showroom purchases paid by bank card (Visa or Mastercard), if a return is requested more than 24 hours after purchase, an electronic payment processing fee of 2.5% applies.

How do I find my correct size?
Follow these three steps:
- Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2.5 cm above your eyebrows.
- Match the number to the chart: 57 to 58 cm is Medium, 59 to 60 cm is Large.
- Between two sizes? Choose the smaller one. The padding softens with use, and a loose helmet protects poorly.
How does the internal sun visor work?
A slider on the lower left edge drops a smoked shield behind the clear visor and retracts it just as fast. You operate it with one gloved finger while riding, and because it sits inside, the main visor stays sealed against dust and wind.
Is the Pinlock anti-fog lens really included?
Yes. The Pinlock DKS435 Max Vision lens comes in the box with this model. Install it on the pins inside the main visor and fogging on cool mornings is finished.
What is the Emergency Release System?
The cheek pads have marked pull tabs. After an accident, medics pull them and the pads slide out, so the helmet lifts off with minimal movement of the head and neck. It changes nothing about everyday comfort.
Does a gloss black shell get hotter in the sun?
The shell surface warms faster in direct sun, but what you feel inside depends on airflow, not shell colour. The MT-AFCS channels keep air moving over your head whenever the bike moves, and parking in shade keeps the shell itself comfortable to pick up.
Which Bluetooth intercoms fit?
The recessed UCS housing takes MT's own MT-B01 and Rider Sync systems and any intercom sold in a UCS version. Standard units from other brands still mount with their normal clamp or adhesive kits.
