The 530ZVX3 is the strongest chain EK builds for the street. Rated at 11,100 lbs tensile strength and approved up to 1400cc, it’s the chain for machines where nothing less will do: hyperbikes, high-torque twins, and heavily modified builds. This version comes in 150 links for stretched and long-wheelbase bikes, and it’s available in a choice of finishes. Made in Japan.
Pick Your Finish
Most chains come in one or two finishes. This one offers a range, and for a show-standard build that matters.
The traditional gold performance look and bright polished chrome are the classics. The black-and-gold combination gives the strongest visual contrast in EK’s range. And the metallic options are deep, dark candy-style finishes rather than bright colours, so they look superb against a matching paint scheme but read much darker in person than in a product photo. If you’re considering one, ask us for a real picture first.
One practical detail: the rivet master link is supplied to match the chain finish, so the colour stays consistent all the way around.
Select your finish from the options above. If what you want isn’t listed, contact us and we’ll check availability in 150 links.
Rivet or Screw Master Link?
EK supplies the 530ZVX3 with a connecting link, and this chain has an option the narrower sizes don’t always offer.
Rivet type is the stronger and permanent choice, and it’s what most high-power builds use. It needs a chain riveting tool to press and flare the pin. EK makes rivet links in matching finishes.
Screw type is available for the 530ZVX3 and installs without a riveting tool, which is useful if you don’t have one or if you expect to remove the chain. It’s typically offered in a narrower range of finishes than the rivet link.
Our view: on a 1400cc machine making serious torque, the rivet link is the right choice. Use a screw link only if you understand the trade-off and your setup calls for it.
Why 150 Links?
A standard performance machine runs somewhere near 110 to 120 links. 150 exists for bikes that need more chain, and there are three common reasons.
Extended swingarms. EK developed the ZVX line with modified extreme sport bikes in mind, including machines running extended swingarms. Stretch the arm and a 120-link chain won’t reach. This is the main reason riders buy 150.
Large rear sprockets. A much bigger rear sprocket for acceleration adds length to the chain run.
Long-wheelbase machines. Some large-displacement bikes need more than 120 links even in standard trim.
Remember you can always cut a chain shorter but never add to it. If you’re between lengths or your bike is modified, 150 is the safer order. Count the links on your current chain before you buy, and if your bike is stock and takes 120, that version is the better value.
Built to Survive Big Power
11,100 lbs of tensile strength. This is the headline figure for the 530ZVX3 and the highest in EK’s street range. For a 1400cc machine that can light up the rear tyre at will, it’s the margin that keeps the chain from becoming the weak link.
Wear life index of 2,000. EK scores its chains against a standard non-sealed chain set at 100. The ZVX3 sits at 2,000, the top of their street range. It’s a measure of resistance to the elongation that ends a chain’s life, and on a fast, expensive machine a chain that lasts is worth more than one that’s slightly lighter.
The NX-ring seal. NX means Narrow X-ring. Because it’s narrower, EK can reduce the clearance between the plates, which stiffens the chain and trims weight at the same time. EK rates it as lasting 15% longer than the seal in the previous ZVX generation. Note that older EK catalogues refer to this same seal as a ZX-ring.
Holes placed by stress analysis. EK drilled the side plates only where the load is lowest, identified through stress analysis. The holes take out weight, help clear dirt, and let heat escape, without removing material from the areas that carry the force.
Which Bikes Is This For?
The 530ZVX3 is positioned for 1000 to 1400cc street machines. In practice that means hyperbikes built for straight-line speed, high-torque twins, and performance machines running more power than standard. The combination of 1400cc capability and 150 links makes it a natural fit for stretched sport bike builds, which is exactly the territory this chain was designed for.
Before ordering, confirm three things. Your bike must run 530, which is stamped on the front sprocket and usually printed on your current chain. Your displacement should be at or under 1400cc. And your chain run should actually need 150 links, not fewer.
Fitting and Alignment on a Stretched Bike
Measure the chain run with the swingarm set where you actually ride. On an adjustable or extended swingarm, length changes with position, so measuring in the wrong setting means cutting the chain wrong.
Get the alignment right and keep checking it. Long swingarms magnify alignment errors. A small misalignment at the front sprocket becomes a much larger error at the rear over a longer chain run, and the result is fast, uneven wear on an expensive chain. Check alignment every time you adjust the slack.
Fit new sprockets with the chain. Worn teeth will ruin a new chain quickly, and on a 1400cc machine they’ll do it faster than most.
Caring for a Coloured Chain in Gulf Conditions
Match your cleaner to the seals. NX-ring and X-ring seals are rubber. Strong solvents, petrol, and harsh degreasers attack them and let the factory grease escape. Use a cleaner made for sealed chains.
Protect the finish. Plating and metallic coatings sit on the surface. Wire brushes and aggressive scrubbing will mark them. A soft chain brush keeps the colour looking right.
Clean after dust and sand. Fine sand bonds to chain lube and grinds at the rollers. In this climate that’s the single fastest way to wear a good chain, and it applies to an 11,100 lb chain exactly as much as a cheap one.
Lube the inner face while warm. Apply to the inside of the chain after a ride, let it settle before you ride again, and wipe off the excess so it doesn’t fling onto the wheel.
Keep pressure washers away. High pressure can force water past the seals and wash out the grease sealed inside.
Who Should Buy This Chain
The rider of a hyperbike or high-power machine who wants the strongest street chain available and a finish that matches the build. The rider with a stretched swingarm who needs both the length and the strength. And anyone running serious power where a standard chain becomes the limiting component.
Being honest: this is EK’s flagship and it’s priced accordingly. A standard performance machine ridden moderately doesn’t need 11,100 lbs or a wear index of 2,000, and EK’s other 530 options cover that rider well. It’s also street-rated only, with no off-road figure listed at all.

What finishes is this chain available in?
The 150-link 530ZVX3 is produced in several finishes, including gold, chrome, black and gold, and a range of metallics. Each has its own part number, so check the options above or contact us for availability.
What do the metallic finishes actually look like?
Dark, with a deep candy-style shine rather than a bright finish. They stand out, but they're a bolder look than gold or chrome.
Does the master link match the chain finish?
The rivet links are made in matching finishes. Screw-type links are generally offered in a narrower range.
Can I fit it without a riveting tool?
Only with a screw-type connecting link. The standard rivet link requires the tool. For a high-power bike we recommend the rivet link and a proper installation.
Will 150 links fit a stock bike?
The chain is cut to length during installation, so yes if your bike is 530. But you'd be paying for links you remove, and the 120-link version is more sensible for a standard machine.
Is the ZVX3 stronger than the ThreeD Z3D in 530?
The ZVX3 is rated at 11,100 lbs and carries the higher wear life index. The Z3D's advantage is lower weight and the ThreeD plate design.
Can I use it off-road?
No. EK lists no dirt rating for the 530ZVX3. Choose an off-road chain for dirt use.
Is it genuine?
Yes. Made in Japan by Enuma Chain and supplied in the original EK box with the part number printed on it.
