Here is the fact that makes the Stinger 2 hard to argue with: the UK government's SHARP programme crash-tested it in September 2025 with 32 impacts across different points of the shell, and it earned the maximum 5-star rating. MT states it plainly, and the numbers back it: this is currently the most affordable SHARP 5-star full face helmet you can buy. The protection comes from an HIRP shell, the impact-resistant polymer MT uses across its range, over a multi-density EPS liner that handles different crash speeds with different foam zones. Certification is ECE 22.06, the current European standard with its rotational impact tests and stronger visor requirements, not the old 22.05 that many budget helmets still carry. Total weight is about 1,600 grams, ordinary math for extraordinary test results.

A visor system borrowed from more expensive helmets

The Stinger 2 uses the MT-V-28B visor, the same anti-scratch, wind-stable unit fitted to helmets higher up MT's range, with the MT-QVSS quick change system: the visor comes off in seconds without tools. It's a 100% Max Vision Pinlock-ready screen, and it also accepts MT's Fog-Off anti-fog sheet, so early morning fogging has two solutions (Pinlock and Fog-Off inserts sold separately). A nose deflector comes fitted as standard, which cuts fogging further and blocks wind blast off the chin bar.

Ventilation that earns its vents

Four front intakes feed air through interior channels, and two rear exhausts pull the hot, humid air out. In stop-and-go city traffic this layout keeps the interior noticeably cooler, which for daily riders in a hot climate matters more than any styling line.

Simple where it should be simple

The interior is hypoallergenic, fully removable, and washable. The micrometric double-tooth buckle clicks to the same fit every time and opens with gloves on. Sizes run XS to XXL, and if gloss isn't your style the same helmet is available in Stinger 2 matt black.

One honest note: the Stinger 2 has no internal sun visor. At this price something has to give, and MT gave up the sun visor rather than the crash test results. If a drop-down sun visor is essential for you, the MT Braker SV adds one for a modest step up, with its own SHARP 5-star rating.
