The Targo S descends from the Targo Pro, the model MT built for riders coming out of racing schools, and the family resemblance shows: a compact shell, a rear deflector that keeps the head steady in the airstream, and a shape that looks fast standing still. This A1 version wears it all in matt black; the same shell is also available in Targo S matt blue. It carries full ECE 22.06 certification, the current European standard with rotational impact testing, where some stores still list this model under the old 22.05 by mistake.

The size range nobody else offers down here

Here's the Targo S's quiet superpower: it runs from XXS to XXL. Almost no full face helmet near this price is made in XXS, and it's the size that riders with smaller heads, many women among them, usually can't find without paying premium-brand money or settling for a badly fitting S. Two separate EPS liner builds (XXS–S and M–XXL) mean the small sizes are engineered small, not just padded tighter. At roughly 1,500 grams, it's also on the lighter side of its class, which smaller riders feel most.

A visor trick MT patented

The Quick Visor Swap System on the Targo S is MT's patented mechanism, and its party piece is that the visor comes off in seconds even while the helmet is on your head. Stop, swap, ride. The visor itself is optically correct anti-scratch polycarbonate, 100% Max Vision Pinlock ready (Pinlock insert sold separately), and sized to seal cleanly against the shell.

Air management for hot cities

Retractable vents at the top and front push air through interior channels, exhaust ports pull it out the back, and the rear deflector smooths the flow to cut wind noise on the highway. The lining is hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and removes completely for washing. The micrometric buckle adjusts precisely and works in gloves, and the shell hides an integrated cage for UCS-standard Bluetooth intercoms.

Choosing between this and our MT Stinger 2? Honest answer: the Stinger 2 holds an official SHARP 5-star test result and the Targo S hasn't been SHARP-tested; the Targo S counters with lighter weight, the racing-line fit, and the XXS-to-XXL range. Both skip the internal sun visor, which lives one step up in the MT Braker SV.

Key Features

  • ECE 22.06 and DOT certified (current standard, not the old 22.05 some listings show)
  • Successor of the Targo Pro racing-school line
  • Rare XXS to XXL size range with two dedicated EPS builds
  • Light for its class at approx. 1,500 g ±20
  • Patented MT-QVSS: visor swaps in seconds, even with the helmet on
  • Optically correct anti-scratch visor, 100% Max Vision Pinlock ready (insert sold separately)
  • Retractable top and front vents, interior channels, rear exhausts
  • Rear deflector for aerodynamic stability and lower wind noise
  • Integrated UCS intercom cage
  • Hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, fully washable interior
  • Micrometric buckle
  • A1 matt black finish

Who Is This Helmet For?

Riders with smaller heads who've been forced into badly fitting helmets, XXS exists here and almost nowhere else at this price. New and returning riders who want the racing-school fit without racing prices. Anyone choosing between MT's entry lines: pick the Targo S for lightness, the small-size range, and the sportier shell; pick the Stinger 2 for its government-tested SHARP 5-star record; step to the Braker SV when an internal sun visor is non-negotiable.

Is the MT Targo S ECE 22.06 certified?

Yes, fully certified to ECE 22.06 and DOT. Some older store listings show 22.05 by mistake; the Targo S generation is 22.06.

Does the Targo S come in very small sizes?

Yes, it runs from XXS to XXL, and the XXS to S sizes use their own EPS build rather than extra padding in a large shell. XXS at this price is rare.

Has the Targo S been SHARP tested?

No SHARP test has been published for the Targo S. If an independent crash-test score matters most to you, the MT Stinger 2 in our store carries an official SHARP 5-star rating.

Can I really change the visor while wearing the helmet?

Yes. MT's patented QVSS mechanism releases the visor in seconds without tools, and it works with the helmet on your head.

What happened to the MT Targo Pro? Is this its replacement?

Yes. MT discontinued the Targo Pro and the Targo S is its direct successor, with a redesigned shell, updated interiors, the patented QVSS quick visor system, and a built-in UCS intercom housing that the Pro didn't have. If you were searching for a Targo Pro, this is the model MT makes now.

Is the visor Pinlock compatible?

Yes, it's 100% Max Vision Pinlock ready; the insert is sold separately.

Does it support a Bluetooth intercom?

Yes, the shell has an integrated cage for UCS-standard Bluetooth communication systems.
