Ask a crash investigator what color helmet they'd wear and the answer is boring: white. Why White Works Harder in the Heat
There's a second argument for white that matters double in our climate: heat. A black shell soaks up sun at every red light. White reflects it. Combined with the Ultraflite's four-intake ventilation and channeled EPS pulling air across your scalp, the white version is simply the cooler helmet to live with through summer, and anyone who has waited out a long signal at noon in July knows exactly what that's worth. Straight Talk on Keeping White White
Flat white shows its life more than any other finish, and some owners note the matte surface can discolor around the vents over years of hard use if neglected. The fix is routine, straight from ICON's own care guidance: soften bugs with a warm, wet towel laid over the shell for five minutes, wipe gently with mild soap and a clean cloth, and never polish or wax a matte finish. Just as important is storage: keep the helmet in its supplied bag, in a dry place, out of direct sunlight. Ten careful minutes a month and the white stays crisp for the life of the helmet. If you'd rather have a finish you can wax and polish, the Ultraflite Gloss White gives you the same color and the same shell in a gloss coat.
The Protection Package
The shell is handcrafted FRP composite fiberglass, the construction used in premium lids because it absorbs crash energy efficiently at low weight. Under it works the MIPS system, a low-friction layer allowing 10 to 15 millimeters of independent movement during angled impacts, bleeding off the rotational force that drives many serious brain injuries. Certifications: DOT FMVSS 218, PSC (Japan), and Europe's current ECE 22.06, the standard that added rotational testing, which many helmets still on sale under the old 22.05 never faced. The One Impact Rule
Worth knowing before you buy any helmet, in ICON's own words as policy: a helmet is engineered to absorb one impact, and it does so by partially destroying its own liner. After any impact, even with zero visible damage, the protection is spent and the helmet must be replaced. Drop it hard off the bike onto concrete and the honest answer is the same. Budget for that reality; it's how helmets work, not a flaw.
Daily-Life Features
Two shields in the box: the Dark Smoke fog-free Ultrashield for daytime, and a clear Pinlock-prepared shield for night, with the Pinlock anti-fog insert sold separately. Both quick-change without tools. The oversized DropShield Ultra internal sun visor drops with an external switch, glove-friendly, and per ICON is used only with the main shield fully closed. The Hydradry and Ax Suede liner removes for washing, the chin curtain tames wind noise, the breath deflector clears cold-morning fog, and the shell is pre-shaped for ICON's HelmLink Bluetooth system, sold separately.

Return & exchange conditions
The product must be in its original unused condition, with the original invoice, original packaging, and all accessories included.
Returns or exchanges are not accepted if the product has been opened or its packaging tampered with, shows signs of use, damage, or improper storage, or if any accessories or parts of the original packaging are missing.
Excluded products
Some products cannot be returned or exchanged, such as: used products including footwear, clothing, and spare parts; electrical/electronic parts and batteries; personal protective clothing and gear after use or after removing accessories; and technical spare parts after installation or use.
Electronic products and batteries must be inspected within 48 hours of delivery.
Fees
When returning a resalable product, up to 25% of its value may be deducted.
For showroom purchases paid by bank card (Visa or Mastercard), if a return is requested more than 24 hours after purchase, an electronic payment processing fee of 2.5% applies.

Is a white helmet really safer?
More visible, yes. Traffic-safety research has repeatedly found that drivers detect light-colored helmets earlier than dark ones, day and night, and earlier detection means more reaction time. The crash protection itself is identical to the black Rizz; the visibility is the bonus.
Is white noticeably cooler in summer?
Yes. White reflects solar heat that a dark shell absorbs, which you feel most at low speed and at stops. Paired with this helmet's ventilation, it's the best pick of the family for hot climates.
Will the matte white turn yellow?
Neglected flat paint can discolor around the vents after years of sun and grime, which some long-term owners mention. Gentle regular cleaning, no wax or polish, and storing the helmet in its bag away from sunlight keeps the finish clean. Details are in the care section above.
Which shield should I run at night?
The included clear Pinlock-prepared shield. The Dark Smoke shield is for daytime; swapping takes seconds with no tools.
Is it ECE 22.06 certified?
