The Cynergy in black and white is the understated one in the EXO-R1 EVO Carbon Air range. Fine white lines over bare carbon, nothing loud, nothing that dates. It suits riders who want Scorpion's lightest ECE 22.06 race full face helmet for the Thursday night ride and the Saturday track day, but who also wear it to work on Sunday. This page is about that daily side: what the R1 gives you and what it doesn't, so you know exactly what you're putting on your head each morning.

Living With the R1 EVO Carbon Day to Day
No inner sun visor, and why that's fine. Race helmets skip the drop-down sun visor to save weight and keep the shell thin. The R1 has none. Instead, Scorpion puts a dark smoke visor in the box. Fit it for the day, keep the clear one in your bag for the ride home after dark. The swap takes seconds and there's no mechanism inside the shell to fail. If a built-in sun visor is a must for you, the Scorpion EXO-1500 Carbon Air is the touring helmet in the same carbon family that has one.
Traffic. City Position cracks the visor open a few millimetres and holds it there, so you get airflow at 40 km/h in Riyadh traffic without the visor flapping. On the highway, the visor lock keeps it sealed against the gasket, which is where much of the R1's quietness comes from.
Heat. The chin intake washes air over the inside of the visor and your face; the top intake feeds the crown; the spoiler pulls warm air out the back. At speed the flow is constant. In stop-and-go summer traffic, no full face is cool, but the KwikWick III liner keeps sweat off your skin and washes clean.
Weight you feel by lunchtime. At around 1300 grams the R1 EVO Carbon weighs less than most polycarbonate commuter helmets by a clear margin. Wear it for a full day and your neck tells the difference.
A fit you set yourself. AirFit lets you inflate the cheek pads until the helmet holds your face without pressure. Set it tight for the highway, release a little for town. Riders who sit between sizes finally get a helmet that fits both moods.
Safety you hope never to use. The Emergency Release tabs on the cheek pads let paramedics pull the pads out and lift the helmet off without twisting your neck. The titanium D-ring is the closure every track in the Kingdom accepts.
Glasses and intercoms. KwikFit channels in the cheek pads take glasses arms without pinching. The EPS has speaker pockets, so a Cardo, an EXO-COM or a low-profile unit like the Sena 10R fits without cutting foam or spoiling the shell's clean lines.
Is This the Right R1 for You?
Choose the Cynergy White if you want a carbon race helmet that doesn't shout. It matches white, silver and black bikes and stays neutral against any riding jacket.
Choose it if you commute in it as well as ride hard in it. The included dark visor, City Position and washable liner make that realistic.
Choose it if you've been told "your size isn't in stock" elsewhere. Boost Box keeps Saudi stock of the R1 range in all six sizes as Scorpion's distributor for the Kingdom, alongside the rest of the Scorpion EXO helmet collection, shipped from Al Khobar with arrival in most cities within two to four working days.
If you want the same helmet louder, see the EXO-R1 EVO Carbon Cynergy Red; if you want the carbon hidden under a colour-shift finish, see the Propel Black Chameleon. All three are the same helmet at the same price.

Does the EXO-R1 EVO Carbon have a drop-down sun visor?
No. Like most race helmets it has no internal sun visor. Scorpion includes a dark smoke outer visor in the box instead, which you swap in for daytime riding. If you want an internal sun visor in a Scorpion carbon, look at the EXO-1500 Carbon Air.
Is a race helmet like this too much for daily commuting?
Not this one. City Position, the visor lock, the washable liner and the included dark visor are all commuter features. The only trade-off is the D-ring, which takes a second longer than a quick-release buckle at fuel stops.
How do I wash the KwikWick III liner?
Unclip the crown pad and the two cheek pads, wash by hand or on a gentle cycle in a mesh bag with mild detergent, and air dry away from the sun. Don't tumble dry. Clip the pads back in the same way they came out.
What are the tabs on the cheek pads for?
They're the Emergency Release. In an accident, medical staff pull those tabs to slide the cheek pads out, which lets the helmet lift off straight up without moving your neck. Don't use them for normal removal.
Will the white lines yellow in the sun?
The lines are under the clear coat, so they don't fade independently. The clear coat over any carbon helmet can dull with years of direct sun, which is why we suggest storing it in the sack indoors.
Which Cynergy colour goes with which bike?
White lines suit white, silver and black bikes and any jacket. Red suits red, black and grey bikes. Neon yellow is for riders who want to be seen. The helmet underneath is identical.
